My new16x60 home measures 15x60

by Joe
(Blaine,Mn.)

I purchased a home in Dec.They say it is 16x60---I measured outside (corner to corner) dimensions and it is exactly 15x60.Which is right.Inside dim.is exactly 14x59?Ext.Walls are 2x6.Some paper work says it's 14 ft. and other paperwork says it's 16 ft.They charged me 2000.00 more because they say 16 ft does really measure 15 ft. for mobile homes?

All mobile homes/manufactured homes are measured from the eaves, not the actual corners of the walls. So, make sure you are measuring from the eves.

This is a common mistake, and you should have been told this.

This can cause big problems when measuring a lot for a new home, so go with experience and don't do it yourself.
