Quality of insulation for North Central Florida,

by Robert V
(Live Oak, FL)

We are purchasing a twenty year old double-wide model. What is the value of the insulation in the walls, ceiling and under the floors? They've come a long way in twenty years, but from the electric bill this winter I have to assume that it is not insulated very well. I base this on the fact that the home is not occupied, therefore no hot water, cooking or lighting has been required thus far. The temp has been set at 60 degrees. Is it possible to add insulation in some way?

Insulation

We are not sure of the rating of your insulation, however, adding to the existing insulation should not be that big of a deal.

Contact a local contractor who could drill a hole in the walls every so many feet, then fill the walls with additional insulation material.
