Where is the vin.number located on a 1971 Fleetwood Moble Home? It is not anywhere inside the unit.Could someone please tell me!!

It's on the tongue of the trailer. You may have to take the wood cap off. I saw our city official do it, when looking for ours..

They don't call them VIN #'s in Calif. They call them decals or registration plates and their usually located on the front or rear of all sections of the MH. Sometimes they're located inside on a closet wall or under a sink. Then again I'm in California and don't really know how they do it in KY.

VIN number issue

There is no VIN number for a mobile home, not in my state anyway. There should be a "serial number" that is located on the "data plate" affixed to the exterior of you home somewhere. Usually at the end of the home or within 3' of the front door down by the belly band just above the skirting. If it's got new siding it was most likely removed or covered by the new siding. Technically, it's supposed to be removed and re-installed on top of the new siding.
