Permits needed?

by Teresa
(Whittier, CA USA)

What exactly is required to move a mobile home? What permits are needed? Are there physical boundries ie., county to county, city to city etc? If moving within the same state - what restrictions are there? June 15, 1976 or later are acceptable models for transport, is this in Calif. only?

Yes, the City or County you reside in most certainly require permits in order to move a mobile home.

In addition, there very well may be additional permission or paperwork to file with the State governing body who over-sees mobile homes in your State - in California it is the HCD aka The Depart of Housing and Community Development (http://www.hcd.ca.gov/). They very much care because they keep close track of the address associated with the home, who owns it, and how much tax is owed.

Your first step is to contact your local tax authority for help. The City and County you live in. That will point you in the right direction.
